TANNER # 252 Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 07/31/13 Date: 08/23/2013 <br />Page 1 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CASE NAME: ARELLANO, HANS KEVIN <br />CLASSIFICATION: OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING (FATAL) <br />TYPE: CANVASS <br />AGENCY: SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at approximately 1614 hours, Orange County District <br />Attorney Supervising Investigator (OCDA) MARK GUTIERREZ contacted me regarding an officer <br />involved shooting incident involving the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD). GUTIERREZ <br />requested I respond to 622 South Harbor Boulevard, in the city of Santa Ana to assist with the <br />investigation. <br />At approximately 1614 hours, I arrived at the location and met with investigators from <br />the OCDA and detectives from the SAPD who were present to assist in the investigation. <br />At approximately 1631 hours, SAPD Acting Sergeant OLIVER GRANT conducted a briefing <br />of the known circumstances surrounding the incident for the personnel involved in the <br />investigation. <br />Following the briefing, GUTIERREZ assigned SAPD Detective RASHAD WILSON and me to <br />conduct a canvass of the neighboring businesses for potential witnesses.
