EXHIBIT 1 <br /> Lorraine M. Perez, Ed.D. <br /> Bio <br /> Lorraine M. Perez, Ed.D. is a seasoned educator and advocate for students and families, currently <br /> serving as Superintendent of Schools for the Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD). <br /> Superintendent Perez's priority academic focus areas include Early Literacy and Reading by Grade <br /> 3; English Learner progress and Designated ELD; and College and Career Readiness. Dr. Perez <br /> also currently serves as a Director for the Santa Ana Chamber of Commerce. <br /> Previously, Dr. Perez served as Deputy Superintendent of SAUSD, where her work focused on <br /> building comprehensive and aligned systems to support implementation of the District's Graduate <br /> Profile. This work embedded student achievement, social-emotional wellness, and family and <br /> community engagement into the DNA of the District. <br /> Prior to joining SAUSD, Dr. Perez served the San Bernardino City Unified School District in <br /> J g Y <br /> multiple leadership roles, including Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Assistant <br /> Superintendent of Student Services, Director of Elementary Instruction, and Coordinator of j <br /> Elementary Instruction.In these roles, she led efforts to develop systems supporting student health ' <br /> and mental wellness, academic achievement, before- and after-school programs, family <br /> engagement, early childhood and adult education,and specialized programs serving homeless and <br /> I foster youth. � <br /> Dr. Perez began her career in education as a teacher in the Baldwin Park Unified School District. <br /> She later served as a principal at one of the District's dual language schools, an experience she <br /> credits as foundational to her instructional leadership and her commitment to engaging parents as <br /> partners in their children's education. <br /> Dr.Perez earned her Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California and both her <br /> bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University,Fullerton,where she later served <br /> on the Board of Directors for the Alumni Association. Her professional experience also includes <br /> work with The Walt Disney Company and ownership of a small business. In addition, she has <br /> served her community for more than 15 years as a City Commissioner, including service on the <br /> Economic Development Commission and the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />
