I did a walk-through of the scene. During the walk-through, I saw a firearm in the west alley between 1818 and 1814 S. Evergreen Street. 2356 Hours: Investigator Holford and I contacted and his mother, , residing at told us that tonight at approximately 2000-2030 hours, she heard three gunshots south from her location, possibly from Occidental Street. There was a two-three second pause when she heard two additional gunshots west from her location, the alley. She walked outside to investigate and saw the suspect on the ground in the west alley. The suspect was surrounded by several Police Officers as she could see they were wearing their police uniforms. had no other information to provide. That concluded our contact with her. told us that tonight at approximately 2000-2030 hours, he heard several gunshots coming from the alley. had no other information to provide. TUESDAY March 12th, 2019 ± Hours: Investigator Holford and I contacted residing at told us that earlier in the evening, he was in his residence when he heard two gunshots. The gunshots sounded like they were coming from midblock of the west alley. He stepped outside to investigate and looked west towards the alley. His mother was walking towards the pedestrian gate leading to the alley when he saw the suspect running east towards his complex. He saw a ³cop´behind the suspect yelling, ³Stop! Get on the ground.´ said he saw the Officer shoot the suspect three times. As the suspect fell to the ground, two Officers appeared from the street and detained a subject coming out from one of the apartments. grabbed his mother and pulled her inside of the apartment. I asked if he actually saw the shooting.said he was standing approximately 25 yards away from the suspect and behind a tree when he heard the three gunshots. He said he only heard the gunshots. was asked if he saw any weapons on the suspect. He said he did not. Osegueda said he has lived in the area for years and recognized the suspect as ³Oscar.´ had no additional information. We requested to speak to his mother. told us she was asleep and suffering from a heart condition. He requested we contact her at another time. That concluded our contact with . 0011 Hours: We contacted at told us she was only visiting and did not see anything. She refused to give us her cell phone number and birthdate. told us she was in her apartment when she heard three gunshots. There was a short pause when she heard two additional gunshots. She said she did not see or hear anything further. I asked her if she saw anything. said she only heard ³whining´and nothing else. After further questioning her, she did look outside of her window and saw the suspect on the ground. Several Officers were yelling at the suspect ³get your hands up.´She described the Officers wearing their police uniforms. said she did not see anything further. She refused to give us her cell phone number and birthdate. 0019 Hours: We contacted residing at was in her bedroom when she heard five gunshots. She could not recall the time but it was late in the evening. She walked to the living room and looked out through the window. She saw her neighbor going Santa Ana PD 2019-05804 7 of 8
