B. Eligibility. <br />Regular, full-time employees shall be eligible to receive <br />Temporary Upgrade Assignment Pay if the work assumed <br />encompasses the majority of the typical duties and <br />responsibilities of the vacated higher-level position, and the <br />employee meets the qualifications outlined in B.2, below. <br />A. Employees in the following categories shall not be <br />assigned to Temporary Upgrade work unless specifically <br />authorized by the City Manager: <br />1) Non-permanent employees (Probationary, Part- <br />time, Seasonal, etc.). <br />2) Employees performing work above their regular <br />classification in a training capacity. <br />2. To qualify for temporary upgrade assignment pay, employees <br />must serve in an acting capacity in the higher-level <br />classification as follows: <br />o ten (10) consecutive working days of eight (8) <br />hours each; or <br />o eight (8) consecutive working days of ten (10) <br />hours each for employees working an alternative <br />work schedule; or <br />o any combination of consecutive working days <br />consisting of nine (9) hours each and one (1) <br />working day consisting of eight (8) hours, for a <br />total of 80 hours of work for employees working <br />the "9/80" work schedule; or <br />a. A permitted absence of two working (2) days or less <br />during such ten (10) day period shall not be deemed to <br />void such consecutive service; however, the days of <br />absence shall not be counted in the computation of <br />eligibility to qualify for the temporary upgrade assignment <br />pay. <br />b. In computing qualifying service rendered, only full days of <br />actual duty shall be included, and partial days shall not <br />be combined to make full days unless they are normally <br />granted holiday hours.
