3. Temporary Upgrade Assignments which entail moving an <br />employee into a classification represented by an employee unit <br />other than that which represents his or her permanent <br />classification shall not include any change in fringe benefits for <br />the affected employee. <br />4. While working in a Temporary Upgrade Assignment, an <br />employee shall continue to accrue, and have recorded, <br />general, special or normal salary step increases in the <br />employee's permanent position; however, such salary increases <br />shall be paid only to maintain the minimum five percent (5%) <br />differential above the salary to which an employee is entitled in <br />his or her permanent position. <br />6.6 All assignments of personnel to positions set forth in Sections 6.1 through 6.5 <br />above shall be made or revoked at the discretion of the Department Head. <br />6.7 Career Development Incentives. Employees hired in a classification which <br />requires a specialized certificate as a prerequisite to hiring, either upon <br />appointment or by the time of the employee's passage of probation <br />("regular appointment"), shall not be eligible for career incentive pay for that <br />prerequisite certificate. However, they shall be eligible for career incentive <br />pay for any other certificates approved for their classification. In no event <br />shall the application of this Career Development Incentive provision result in <br />an individual being eligible to earn more than twenty-five (25) salary rate <br />ranges (approximately 12.5%) above his or her current monthly base salary <br />step. <br />CONFIDENTIAL ASSOCIATION OF SANTA ANA (CASA) MOU: 2010 - 2012 Page 23 <br />25E-25
