Commissioner Gartner spoke with applicant Jamison Luther regarding Variance <br />Nos. 2007-07, 2007-08 and 2007-11. <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br />1 <br />D. UPDATE ON CITY'S GRAFFITI REMOVAL PROGRAMS <br />Graffiti Task Force Chairman Will Hayes provided an overview of the city's graffiti <br />abatement program. <br />Commission discussion ensued regarding the criterion for determination of <br />quadrants, enforcement and parent accountability, restitution, civil court <br />proceedings and identifying the data for measuring success. <br />Commission recommended that public awareness should be on-going; to provide <br />preventive resources for parents, to encourage involvement with high school <br />counseling staff whereby the presentation would identify early signs and have <br />information disseminated to the community. <br />Commission suggested that the website information include the graffiti <br />enforcement/prevention data. Commission proposed that as part of the <br />application approvals, the developers be held accountable for graffiti cleanup <br />within 24-hours. Commission recommended Stop Tagging partnership with <br />schools, promoting awareness on literature, in English/Spanish/Vietnamese. <br />1 <br />u <br />E.
