KO/BK - 1/11/06 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2005-76 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DENYING CONDITIONAL USE <br />PERMIT NO. 2005-26 TO ALLOW ESTABLISHMENT OF A <br />LAUNDROMAT FACILITY FOR THE PROPERTY <br />LOCATED AT 702 WEST SEVENTEENTH STREET <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, <br />determines and declares as follows: <br />A. The applicant is requesting approval of Conditional Use Permit No. 2005- <br />26 to allow acard-operated Laundromat facility within an existing <br />commercial building to be located at 702 West Seventeenth Street, Suite <br />B. <br />B. Conditional Use Permit No. 2005-26 came before the Zoning <br />• Administrator of the City of Santa Ana for a public hearing on October 26, <br />2005. <br />C. On November 14, 2005, the Planning Commission voted to set the matter <br />for public hearing. On November 28, 2005 the Planning Commission held <br />a duly noticed public hearing on Conditional Use Permit No. 2005-26 <br />D. Pursuant to Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 41-199, Laundromats are <br />permitted in the Community Commercial (C1) zoning district subject to the <br />issuance of a conditional use permit. <br />E. Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 41-638 authorizes the Zoning <br />Administrator to grant a conditional use permit upon making certain <br />findings. <br />1. Will the proposed use provide a service or facility which will <br />contribute to the general well being of the neighborhood or the <br />community? <br />i. The proposed Laundromat will not contribute to the general <br />well being of the community because there is already a <br />Laundromat located on Seventeenth Street approximately <br />one block from the applicant's location that already provides <br />this community service to individuals who live and work in <br />the area. Despite the fact that conditions could have been <br />placed on the Laundromat, designed to mitigate potential <br />Resolution No. 2005-76 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
