Commission discussion ensued regarding land use/regulated use. <br />Commissioners also discussed occupancy limitation, food uses, live <br />entertainment and hours of operation for Artists Village restaurants. <br />Officer Mike McCoy, SAPD, does not recommend Type 48 license approval, <br />noted concerns with entitlements and amount of calls to police that would be <br />generated from school and churches. He also noted that number of ABC licenses <br />issued is high. <br />Commissioner Mondo noted letter of support with signatures from Artists Walk <br />Corporation. <br />Jon Reiser, applicant, provided an overview of the proposed project at the <br />Santora Building discussing the interior styling, surrounding area; targeted <br />demographics, local professionals and artist community, security at the door, <br />dress code, live entertainment, atmosphere, and mixed media art installations. <br />The applicant noted that the bar will not have: a juke box, neon signage, pool <br />tables, tab beers or pitchers, video games and not operating during the day. <br />Chairman Mondo opened the public hearing <br />Public in support of project: Joe Duffy, Gil Marrero, Dr. Alfonso Bustamante, Bob <br />Stewart, Robin Christenson, David DiRienzo, Jane Lewis, Catherine Graziano, <br />William Beaubeaux, Kendric Francis, Jade Howe, Justin Reuter, Brad Romoff, <br />Tim Rush, James Kendrick, and Dan Bradley. <br />Chairman Mondo closed the public hearing. <br />Mr. Harding, Executive Director Planning & Building, commented on hours of <br />operation, deejays and live entertainment. <br />Commissioner Nalle asked for an increase of up to four musicians. Staff noted <br />that request would be made at the upcoming Zoning Administrator public <br />hearing. <br />Chief Assistant City Attorney Kaufman requested clarification from Planning <br />Commission on hours of operation. Commission recommended 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 <br />a.m. and preference for deejays and/or up to four musicians. <br />Motion: <br />Staff to prepare the appropriate reports and return item to the Commission <br />to allow the martini bar. <br />MOTION: Nalle SECOND: Cribb <br />AYES: Cribb, Leo, Lutz, Mondo, Nalle, Sinclair (6) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: De La Torre (1) <br />ABSTAIN: None (0) <br />3.
