5. Staff Comments <br />Mr. Edwards <br />Noted that the reference on the L.A. Fitness billboard on Seventeenth Street will <br />be corrected to identify the development in Santa Ana. <br />6. Planning Commission Comments <br />Commissioner De La Torre <br />• Noted that he was pleased with the correction to the L.A. Fitness billboard. <br />• Requested an update on the Centerline project subsequent to the vote held in <br />Irvine. Ms. Nelson advised that the project is currently being reviewed. <br />Commissioner Lutz left the meeting at 7:30 p.m. <br />Commissioner Cribb <br />• Requested that- the Centerline project be reviewed for feasibility considering <br />alignment only with Costa Mesa. <br />• Requested information regarding the proposed project on the Bombay Bicycle <br />Club site. Mr. Fregoso advised that the owner has a winery in Temecula and <br />is proposing a restaurant and wine tasting room. <br />• Requested an update on Starbucks at 17th and Flower. Ms. Nelson advised <br />that the proposed drive-through was not feasible. The proposed Starbucks at <br />Bristol and Memory Lane has revised their plans and will be on a future <br />agenda. <br />• Requested an update on the latest proposal for the YMCA. Ms. Nelson noted <br />that she had not heard of anything being proposed. <br />Commissioner Mondo <br />• Noted that the "Coming Events" sign in Sandpoint Park has graffiti on it and <br />requested that either the graffiti be removed or the sign taken down. <br />• Requested that staff investigate the signage/banners at the BRE <br />Development located north of the Doubletree Hotel. <br />Commissioner Leo <br />• Requested an update on Target. Ms. Nelson advised that it was proceeding <br />well. <br />• Requested an update on Krispy Kreme. Ms. Nelson advised that it scheduled <br />for the July 28, 2003 Planning Commission agenda. <br />• Requested that updates on traffic surveys being conducted in areas of <br />proposed projects be provided to the Commission. <br />• Requested an update on the Court of Appeals. Ms. Nelson noted that nothing <br />had been heard recently. She advised the UCI is currently in the bidding <br />process to have it located next to their law library. She noted that legislation <br />is being proposed to prohibit courts to locate outside of the Civic Center. <br />Chairman Nalle <br />• Requested an update on legislative support regarding the Court of Appeals. <br />Ms. Nelson advised that Assemblyman Correa is supportive and Senator <br />Dunne is not. <br />7.
