CENTERLINE <br />Dave Ream, City Manager, provided an update and outline of the proposed light rail <br />system. He noted that once the design is set, review will be requested from City <br />Commissions and residents. Modifications based on this input will be made prior to City <br />Council review. History of Bristol Street Redevelopment Project Area discussed. Mr. <br />Ream distributed a chronology of the project. The funding, proposed route, linkage to <br />Santa Ana College and proposed ridership were discussed. Mr. Ream also provided an <br />update on outstanding issues and noted that a final plan is anticipated in 3-4 months. <br />The Commissioners noted their desire to provide input as early in the project as <br />possible. <br />G. TRANSIT VILLAGE <br />Joseph Edwards, Planning Manager, outlined the area of the project and provided a <br />brief update. He noted that it would serve as a transportation hub and gateway into <br />Santa Ana. <br />Brian Myers, Griffin Structures, discussed the Transit Village objectives and outlined <br />the boundaries. He noted that the proximity to the Artist Village, mass transit, and I-5 <br />had been influential in the site selection. Discussion was held regarding the site plan <br />alternatives, parking, and the Depot. <br />Discussion was held regarding the recycled use of buildings and the inclusion of an <br />arts program. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES 3 January 13, 2003 <br />
