• Otto Bade, congratulated all re-elected to the City Council; opined that bidding process <br />for food concession services at the Santa Ana Zoo flawed and requested that Council <br />consider re-bidding contract. <br />• Yvonne Lopez, opined that elephant rides at the Santa Ana Zoo should be banned. <br />• Grace Wetrosky, believe that elephant rides at the Santa Ana Zoo ought to be banned. <br />• Laura Cooley, also opined that elephant rides should not be allowed at the Santa Ana <br />Zoo. <br />• Julie Curran-Meskell, encouraged Council to ban elephant rides at the Santa Ana Zoo. <br />• Britta Wilson, representing PETA, encouraged Council to ban elephant rides at the <br />Santa Ana Zoo. <br />• Francisco Barragan, congratulated and expressed well wishes to all who were re- <br />elected; concerned with a robo call received during election. <br />• Sara Guerrero, invited all to participate in the 4th Annual Noche de Milagros to be held <br />on December 4th hosted by Breath of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble; congratulated <br />Council for another term on the City Council. <br />• Robin Cook, commented on re-vote matter considered at a previous Council meeting; <br />opined that City should keep the elephant rides at the Santa Ana Zoo. <br />• Steve McGuigan, provided letters by "Have Trunks Will Travel" to Council encouraging <br />them to visit their facility where they house elephants; asked Council to post <br />information on upcoming events on their personal websites. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />MOTION: Approve Consent Calendar Items 10A through 25S with the <br />following modifications: <br />• Mayor Pro Tern Alvarez voted "No" on Item 19C; <br />• Councilmember Sarmiento pulled item 25A and 25N for separate discussion; <br />MOTION: Alvarez SECOND: Benavides <br />VOTE: AYES: Alvarez, Benavides, Bustamante, Pulido, Martinez, <br />Sarmiento, Tinajero (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSTAIN: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 4 NOVEMBER 15, 2010 <br />1 0A-4
