MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING NO. C-9-0825
EXHIBIT A
2. Existing street and lane geometries, curbs, median, sidewalk width,
pedestrian ramps, etc.
3. Location of traffic control equipment at signalized intersections - poles,
controller cabinets, service cabinets, telephone service, detector loops,
existing service location connection, etc.
4. Traffic signs and pavement markings at intersections along the
Bristol/State College BRT Corridor and cross streets.
5. Traffic signal controller information, such as type of controller, brand and
make, condition of equipment.
6. Existing signal operation characteristics - signal phasing, cycle lengths,
lead-lag, protective-permissive, etc.
7. Existing signal communication equipment.
8. Existing time-referencing setup.
9. Special characteristics such as proximity to adjacent intersections,
location of bus stops, location of driveways, parking prohibitions, and
other factors that may affect the efficiency of operation.
10. Photographed each intersection including location of signal controller
cabinet.
11. Phot ographed the inside of each signal controller cabinet.
12. Noted any deficiencies of traffic control equipment at each intersection.
13. Noted the maintenance condition of the traffic signal equipment.
14. Existing preemption devices.
The field notes were prepared and approved by AUTHORITY in writing.
Previous consultant noted factors that are expected to affect signal progression
including, but not limited to: intersections with high pedestrian or bicyclist
volumes; over-saturated intersections; uneven lane distribution; high volumes of
trucks and buses; high-volume un-signalized intersections, including
interchanges; parking maneuvers; location of bus stops; differing signal timing
patterns among agencies; etc.
Previous consultant identified any deficiencies of the existing traffic signal control
equipment (i.e. hardware, software) and geometric layout. Previous consultant
provided recommended solutions that may be implemented in order to correct
deficiencies and improve the traffic operations along the Bristol/State College
Scope of Work 34 05118/10
