Ma. Lynnette Perry, Assistant Planner II provided an overview of the <br />applicant's request to continue after hour operations at the La Vaquita <br />Restaurant. Ms. Perry stated that the restaurant had been in operation since <br />1986; no alcoholic beverages were sold at the location; and the crime rate <br />was considered average by the Police Department. Landscaping upgrades would <br />be completed by the applicant and staff recommends approval of the request. <br />Commissioner Mondo clarified with Ma. Perry that the applicant was requesting <br />to extend the hours of operation for Friday and Saturday only. <br />Ma. Perry confirmed that the applicant was only asking to extend the hours of <br />operation on Friday and Saturday nights. <br />Mr. Avila, applicant, stated that he agreed with the conditions of approval <br />and that it was important to him to be able to continue restaurant operations <br />until 3:00 a.m. <br />Commissioner Mondo moved to approve Conditional Use Permit No. 96-26. The <br />motion was seconded by Commissioner Doughty. <br />AYES: Nalle, Oliver, Doughty, Mondo, and Segura <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Brown and Pedroza <br />6. CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. 95-32 (Larry Yenqlin) <br />To discontinue revocation proceedings and to modify the conditions of <br />approval for Tacos Serrano after hour operations located at 415 North Grand <br />Avenue. <br />LEOAL NOTICED: August 2, 1996 <br />PUBLIC NOTICED: August 2, 1996 <br />RECON4IISNDATION: <br />1. Direct staff to discontinue revocations proceedings. <br />2. Approve the modified conditions of approval for Conditional Uae Permit <br />No. 95-32. <br />Mr. Larry Yenglin, Associate Planner, provided a brief background of the <br />project and indicated that staff had been working with the telephone company <br />(StarNet) and an agreement had been made between staff and StarNet to <br />discontinue phone operations between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. In <br />addition, staff recommends the Commission to direct staff to discontinue the <br />revocation proceedings and to approve the modified conditions of approval. <br />Commissioner Mondo asked if the applicant had removed the public phone from <br />the public right-of-way. <br />Mr. Mike McCoy, Police Department, stated that the relocation of the phones <br />had been completed at this site, but not yet at other StarNet sites. <br />Commissioner Mondo moved to approve the modified conditions of approval and <br />directed staff to discontinue revocation proceedings. The motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Doughty. <br />AYES: Nalle, Oliver, Doughty, Mondo, and Segura <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Brown and Pedroza <br />5. EBCUSE OF ABSENCES. <br />Commissioner Mondo moved to approve the absences of Commissioners' Brown and <br />Pedroza. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Segura and unanimously <br />passed. <br />6.
