PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />ROLL CALL: The Regular Meeting of the Santa Ana Planning Commission was called to <br />order and conducted by Chairman Nalle in the City Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center <br />Plaza, Santa Ana, California. Roll call was answered by Commissioners Oliver, <br />Doughty, Mondo, Hanna, and MacDowell. Also in attendance were: Robyn Uptegraff, <br />Executive Director; Kenneth Adams, Planning Manager; Gary Sheat z, Deputy City <br />Attorney; Charles View, Senior Planner; Thomas Childress, Associate Planner; Sergio <br />Klotz, Associate Planner; Melanie McCann, Assistant Planner II; Pam Lucado, Public <br />Works Agency; Mike McCoy and Yolanda Pena, Police Department; Linda Hale, Acting <br />Recording Secretary. <br />PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG: The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Chairman <br />Nalle. <br />PROCEDURAL RULES: The procedural rules for the session were read by Chairman Nalle. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS, 7:00 v.m. <br />1. AMENDMENT APPLICATION NO 96-13 (Thomas Childress) <br />Filed by Birtcher properties to amend the existing Specific Development 12 <br />zone and create Specific Development 63 to accommodate an expansion of the <br />existing Orange County Business Center located at 1221-1261 East Dyer Road. <br />(Continued by Planning Commission February 10, 1997 to February 24, 1997) <br />LEGAL NOTICED: November 29, 1996 <br />PUBLIC NOTICED: November 27, 1996 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Amendment <br />Application No. 96-13. <br />Mr. Thomas Childress, Associate Planner, presented the staff report and staff <br />recommendation. <br />Mr. Robert Sundstrom, representing applicant, commented that the applicant <br />was in favor of staff's recommendation. <br />Motion approving Amendment Application No. 96-13 <br />MOTION: Olivet SECOND: Doughty <br />AYES: Nalle, Oliver, Doughty, Mondo, Hanna, and MacDowell <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Pedroza <br />Z. GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 96-11 AND AMENDMENT APPLICATION NO. 96-18 <br />(Sergio Klotz) <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to redesignate properties located at 1254, <br />1258, and 1264 East Fourteenth Street from General Business District (GBD) to <br />Low Density Residential (LR-7) and rezone properties from Arterial Commercial <br />(CS) to Single-Family Residential (R1). <br />LEGAL NOTICED: February 9, 1997 <br />PUBLIC NOTICED: February 10, 1997 <br />RECOR4IENDATION: <br />1. Recommend that the City Council adopt a resolution approving General <br />Plan Amendment No. 96-11 to amend the Land Use Element of the General <br />Plan. <br />2.
