ACTION MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />SEPTEMBER 25, 2000 <br /> <br /> <br />CALLED TO ORDER City Hall Ross Annex <br />20 Civic Center Plaza <br />5:20 p.m. <br />ATTENDANCE: Glenn Mondo, Chairman <br />Jose Solorio, Pro Tem <br />Molly Doughty <br />Don Cribb <br />ABSENT: Alexander Nalle <br />Lynnette Verino <br />Robert Richardson <br />STAFF PRESENT: Kenneth Adams, Acting Executive Director <br />Gary Sheatz, Chief Assistant City Attorney <br />Joyce Amerson, Public Works Agency <br />Mike McCoy, Police Department <br />Jeffry Rice, Principal Planner <br />Joseph Edwards, Principal Planner <br />Sharon McCain Johnson <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Approval of the Minutes from the regular meeting of August 28, 2000. <br />A. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve the minutes from the meeting of August 28, 2000. <br />* * * * * END OF CONSENT CALENDAR * * * * * <br /> <br />Motion to approve Consent Calendar. <br />MOTION: Doughty SECONDED: <br />AYES: Mondo, Solorio, Doughty, and Cribb <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Nalle, Verino, and Richardson <br />ABSTENTION: None <br />Solorio <br />Discussion concerning commercial vehicles parking in residential neighborhoods. <br />B. <br />Mr. Jeffry Rice, Principal Planner, informed the Commission that staff had conducted a <br />discussion regarding commercial vehicles in residential areas on August 28, 2000 and <br />the Commission had requested a continuation on the discussion. <br />Ms. Marta Crane, Associate Planner, provided a staff definition of commercial vehicles, <br />provided an overview of the different sizes of commercial vehicles, and discussed several <br />options concerning parking, potential impacts, and enforceability. <br />Mr. George Alvarez, Public Works Agency, provided a power point presentation and <br />informed the Commission of the established Task Force to address concerns and <br />solutions regarding the parking of commercial vehicles in residential areas; discussed <br />measures being considered to address the problems; and recommendations of the Task <br />Force. <br />1 <br />
