Comments from the Executive Director. <br />Mr. Kenneth Adams apprised the Commission that staff would be presenting an <br />urgency moratorium concerning banquet facilities at the July 17, 2000 City Council <br />meeting and that the ordinance would be presented to the Commission at an <br />upcoming meeting. <br />4. Comments from staff. <br />There were no comments. <br />5. Comments from the Assistant City Attorney. <br />There were no comments. <br />6. Comments from the Planning Commission. <br />Commissioner Richardson <br />• Inquired as to the approval of the new Shoe City store located at McFadden <br />Avenue and Harbor Boulevard. Mr. Jeffry Rice, Principal Planner, informed the <br />Commission that the new business complied with the Harbor Specific Plan. <br />Commissioner Doughty <br />• Reported that she had noticed an increase in shopping carts and informed <br />staff that there were shopping carts located on Wilshire between Flower and <br />carts in the French Park neighborhood. <br />Commissioner Solorio <br />• Reported that he had recently attended a Santa Anita Neighborhood meeting <br />and had received concerns regarding many speeders at Fifth and Jackson and <br />requested staff investigate if a signal would be appropriate at the location; <br />• Requested staff investigate if caution or fluorescent signs would be <br />appropriate at for children pedestrians at Jackson, Camille, and James streets. <br />Commissioner Mondo <br />• Reported to staff that a company that paints the addresses on residential <br />curbs had recently painted a neighbors curb, but when the neighbor did not <br />donate funds for the services, the company came back to the address and <br />painted over the curb and he informed staff that he had the name and number <br />if staff wished to send a letter. <br />7. Excuse of absences. <br />There was a motion to excuse the absence of Commissioner Verino. The motion <br />was seconded and unanimously passed. <br />8.
