CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT N0.98-07 <br />Six month review of Conditional Use Permit No. 98-07 for Global Metal Recycling located at 1011 East Pine <br />Street. <br />LEGALLY NOTICED: August 13, 1999 <br />PUBLICLY NOTICED: August 12, 1999 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Receive and file the six month review for Conditional Use Permit No. 98-07. <br />Mr. Jeffry Rice, Principal Planner provided an overview of the review of the conditional use permit. <br />Mr. Noun Johnson, representing applicant, informed the Commission that grading for the site had been <br />completed; the applicant was waiting for an inspection; and then he would be obtaining permits shortly <br />thereafter. <br />Mr. John Nettle, local business owner, inquired regarding the fence for the site. <br />Ms. Beltran, local resident, inquired regarding the fence for the site. <br />Motion to conduct an additional review of Conditional Use Permit No. 98-07 on September 27, 1999. <br />MOTION: Mondo SECONDED: Nalle <br />AYES: Verino, Mondo, Nalle, Solorio, Cribb, and Richardson <br />OPPOSED: None <br />ABSENT: Doughty <br />ABSTAINED: None <br />2. ZONING ORDINANCE AMENDMENT NO.99-07 <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to amend Chapter 41 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code adding care home uses <br />as a conditionally permitted use in the Two-Family Residential zoning district citywide. <br />LEGALLY NOTICED: August 13, 199 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Zoning Ordinance Amendment No. <br />99-07. <br />2. Recommend that the City Council approve and certify the Negative Declaration for Environmental <br />Review No. 99-106. <br />Ms. Melanie McCann ,Associate Planner, presented the staff report and recommendation <br />Mr. Donald Taylor, Veteran's Charities, provided an overview of the operations and the facility and spoke in <br />support of the project. In addition, he expressed concern regarding the hardship that would be caused to the <br />clients who relied on the services provided by the facility if the project was denied. <br />Several Commissioners expressed concern regarding the location of the facility and requested staff to provide <br />pictures of the surrounding area. <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br />
