AMENDMENT TO DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT NO. 95-01 AND ABANDONMENT NO.'S 99- <br />01. 99-02. 99-03.99-04. AND 99-05 <br />Filed by Mater Dei High School to vacate a portion of Baker, Pomona, Stanford, and Edinger Avenue; <br />amend the Development Agreement; and approve an amended master plan for Mater Dei High School <br />located at 1202 West Edinger Avenue in the Open Space (O) zoning district. <br />LEGALLY NOTICED: May 14, 1999 <br />PUBLICLY NOTICID: May 14, 1999 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />1. Recommend that the City Council adopt an ordinance approving Amendment to Development <br />Agreement No. 95-01. <br />2. Recommend that the City Council adopt a resolution approving Abandonment No.'s 99-01, 99-02, <br />99-03, 99-04, and 99-05. <br />3. Recommend that the City Council Approve and Certify the Addendum to Mitigated Negative <br />' Declazation No. 98-137 for Environmental Review No. 98-137. <br />Mr. Jeffry Rice, Principal Planner, outlined the proposed expansion, presented the staff report, and <br />recommendation. <br />Mr. Patrick Murphy, Principal of Mater Dei, informed the Commission that Mater Dei desired to increase <br />parking at the school and the modifications made to the buildings were within 11x1 feet of the original <br />proposals. <br />Mr. Ghanshiyan Lohiya indicated that he was a previous neighbor of the Mater Dei School and stated that it <br />was a respectable school and requested support of the proposal. <br />Ms. Elizabeth Tuiteleleapaga, local resident, thanked staff for notification of the heazing and questioned <br />whether or not a brick wall would be constructed on Baker Street and if there would be pedestrian access to <br />and from the site from Stanford and Baker Street. <br />Mr. George Alvazez, Public Works Agency, responded that a gate would be constructed for emergency <br />vehicle and equipment access at Standazd and Pomona and an eight foot block wall would be constructed <br />from Edinger Avenue to Berkley. <br />Another local resident, reported that there was a lot of debris problems on Occidental and Baker Street and <br />asked if the trash bins would be removed during the upcoming phases. Mr. Jeffry Rice stated that the bins <br />would be removed during the reconstruction of the cafeteria and maintenance building. <br />Motion to: 1) recommend that the City Council an ordinance approving Amendment to Development <br />Agreement No. 95-01; 2) recommend that the City Council adopt a resolution approving Abandonment <br />No.'s 99-01, 99-02, 99-03, 99-04, and 99-05; and 3) recommend that the City Council Approve and <br />Certify the Addendum to Mitigated Negative Declaration No. 98-137 for Environmental Review No. 98- <br />137. <br />MOTION: Nalle SECONDED: Doughty <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAINED: <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br />Verino, Nalle, Doughty, Solorio, Cribb, and Richardson <br />None <br />Mondo <br />None <br />3 <br />May 24, 1999 <br />
