Comments from the Staff <br />SECOND: Mondo <br />Doughty, Mondo, Nalle, Richardson, Verino (7) <br />COMMENTS <br />• Mr. View requested that all Commissioners RSVP for the holiday party as soon as <br />possible. <br />• Mr. View advised the Commission the December 12, 2001 meeting will not include an <br />afternoon session and will begin in the Council Chambers at 6:00 p.m. <br />8. Comments from the Planning Commission <br />Commissioner Leo <br />• Advised that he had read in the local Spanish language newspaper that the rents on <br />Minnie Street are being increased and requested that staff investigate. <br />• Requested that aresident/owner committee be formed to assist with compliance with the <br />ordinance for residential motels. <br />• Noted that he had gone to see the Dead Sea Scrolls at the Bower's and encouraged <br />everyone to go. Also noted that the reservation process was difficult for local residents <br />as reservations had to be made through a company in Virginia. <br />• Congratulated Commissioner Doughty on her new grandchild. <br />Commissioner Richardson <br />• Congratulated Commissioner Doughty on her new grandchild. <br />Commissioner Verino <br />• Requested staff facilitate investigation of continuous violation of the "no left turn" order by <br />drivers traveling south at the intersection of Bristol and St. Andrews. <br />Commissioner Cribb <br />• Requested staff to investigate the homeless encampment at Santiago Creek and the 22 <br />freeway. <br />Requested an update on the 2nd Street Promenade and Southern California Gas building. <br />• Requested that a staff member discuss a clean-up effort for Hart Park with a <br />representative from the City of Orange. <br />Commissioner Doughty <br />• Noted that she had been advised there was a sign on the Farmers Insurance property <br />indicating legal action had been filed by the school district and requested information. <br />Jeffry Rice advised that the school board is scheduled to consider the issue in December. <br />Discussion of the eminent domain process followed. <br />Chairman Mondo <br />• Requested staff facilitate graffiti removal from the public parking signs on the west side of <br />southbound Main Street between First Street and Edinger. He also requested <br />information regarding who was responsible for reporting graffiti on public property. He <br />' indicated that the graffiti had been there for approximately three weeks. <br />9.
