The Notice of Cancellation of the October 8, 2001 Planning Commission Meeting was posted <br />at the City Hall Council Chambers on October 5, 2001 at 4:45 p.m. <br />* * * END OF CONSENT CALENDAR <br />C. EXTERIOR PAY PHONE REGULATIONS (Charles View) <br />Charles View outlined the proposed regulations and the time frames for review. Key <br />' points in the proposed regulations include installation requirements, separation of <br />phones, signage requirements, and a standard that will not allow them to be placed <br />in a public right of way, sidewalk, ar unimproved lots. Outreach with the industry has <br />been done and a meeting is scheduled to meet. and discuss the proposed standards. <br />Phones that have not received permits or are not in compliance will be subject to <br />code enforcement action. The current ordinance that was adopted three years ago <br />contained a clause that allowed for athree-year period for the pay phone owners to <br />come into compliance. This period will expire on January 6, 2002 and the new <br />standards would go into effect at that time.
