Major Project Development Uadate <br />Jeffry Rice, Principal Planner, commented that staff prepared updates on the <br />following projects: Brehm Homes, Main Street Concourse, Extended Stay <br />America and the conceptual on Wilson Property located at 2000 E. First Street. <br />Lynette Perry, Associate Planner, gave background information on the Brehm <br />Homes proposed on the former Farmers Insurance site. The plan calls for 36 <br />single-family homes that will sell between mid-$500,000s to mid-$600,000s with <br />6-7 bedrooms, 3-4 baths and 4 car garages. Brehm Homes will have a <br />reimbursement agreement with the city for off-site improvements. Discussion <br />' ensued on the sound walls and grade change. Ms. Perry also noted that staff is <br />in contact with representatives for the jet fuel line that runs along the Caltrans <br />property. <br />Vince Fregoso, Senior Planner, provided an overview of the Main Street <br />Concourse proposed at Main Street and Memory Lane which is currently in site <br />plan review. The proposed mixed use project includes a 200,000 square foot, 9- <br />story office tower, commercial and residential components with condominium <br />lofts, rental units, parking structure, black box theater and a 7-9 story hotel. <br />Commissioner Cribb noted that the 950 square feet for the rental units is too <br />small and that the housing architecture and quality of materials is not adequate <br />given the importance of this site. Commissioner Doughty voiced concern and <br />noted she is not in favor of any rental units. Ms. Ne{son commented that Opus <br />West is also seeking Redevelopment Agency financial assistance; and staff will <br />re-agendize item for further discussion and invite Opus West to participate. Staff <br />will bring item back item to Commission in 30 days and will provide copies of the <br />site plan in advance to the Commission. <br />Bill Apple, Associate Planner, provided an overview of the Extended Stay <br />America project proposed on the Crazy Horse Restaurant site which is currently <br />in site plan review. The project will come to the Commission for action as it will <br />require an amendment to SD-8 Specific Development Plan. The proposed <br />project consists of a 4-story extended stay hotel with 115 rooms, swimming pool, <br />laundry facilities, and kitchenettes. <br />E.
