Adopt a resolution approving Historic Resources Commission Application Nos. 2004-09, <br />- 10 and 2004-11 through 2004-20. <br />2. Adopt a resolution approving Historic Register Categorization Nos. 2004-09, -10, and <br />2004-11 through 2004-20. <br />Lynnette Perry, Associate Planner presented staff report and recommendations. <br />Commissioners' comments: <br />None noted <br />Chairman Giles opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mary West Brown (321 E. Santa Clara) declined designation. <br />Teresa Gorman Martinez (501 E. 20~' St. and 507 W. 20th St.) declined the designation on <br />both properties. Ruben Martinez, co-owner also declined the designation on both <br />properties. <br />Ronald Richardson (2335 N. Oakmont) thanked the Commission for inclusion on the <br />register. <br />John E. Stevens Jr. (521 E. Santa Clara) requested clarification on asbestos shingle <br />restriction. Expressed his appreciation for the Commissions' efforts on historic preservation <br />of the properties. Also requested information on the state historic code requirements; staff <br />will follow up. <br />Chairman Giles closed public hearing <br />Commissioner Gartner wants to approve all properties and allow applicants to appeal with <br />city council. <br />Commissioner Schaefer commented that owners are being handed a protection for their <br />home, there appears to be a misunderstanding with restrictions among the homeowners. <br />Commissioner Giles commented that there are desires for property owners and the public to <br />protect homes for future generations.
