u <br /> <br />Commissioner Kings <br />• Asked how the downtown vision poster is being utilized. Ms. Nelson noted it is <br />being provided to lenders, developers and those interested in buying property; it is <br />being used as a marketing piece, and as a point of discussion for Centerline <br />meetings and Santa Ana Boulevard Specific Plan. <br />• Asked for an update on the Artists Lofts and other p operties. Ms. Nelson noted the <br />lofts that have been released have been sold anc~ are in discussions with Frank <br />Barbero who expressed interest in selling his parking easement rights which would <br />allow the comer of 3`" & Main to be developed. MR DiRienzo's Fourth Street in-fill <br />project at 4"' 8 Ross and 1•` & Bush is in various stages with site plan review and the <br />lofts at Santa Ana Boulevard near train depot, are almost out of site plan review and <br />the developer is close to purchasing the property from the city. <br />• Asked if any Commissioners or staff plan to attend the Los Angeles Preservation <br />Summit on November 15. Commissioner O'Callaghan noted he will attempt to <br />attend. <br />• Noted thanks and appreciation to Ms. Nelson for her many years of service adding <br />she will sorely be missed. <br />Commissioner Comin <br />• Asked for an update on the Centerline project. Ms. Nelson noted it is currently in <br />the EIR process ih which the City will be forwarding comments and will be certified in <br />early spring by the board and are also in the process of accessing federal grant <br />dollars for the project. <br />• Asked for an update on the 1~ & Main United Automotive building. Ms. Nelson noted <br />it is going to the Planning Commission on November 24 for zoning approvals to <br />occupy the building and a parking variance to occupy the restaurant. <br />• Noted congratulations to Ms. Nelson adding Irvine isfifortunate to get her. <br />Commissioner O'Callaghan <br />• Asked for an update on the Phillips Block building. Ms. Nelson noted Joe Duffy will <br />purchase the third section of the building for his gown offices and will have the <br />obligation of putting a restaurant on the ground floor <br />• Welcomed Jay Trevino <br />• Noted that Ms. Nelson departure will be great loss to the City adding she will be <br />missed. <br />Chairman Giles <br />• Asked for a status of the YMCA building. Ms. Nelson noted there is no update. <br />• Announced French Park home tour is scheduled for the second weekend in <br />December. <br />• Announced that French Park is starting a house moving project noting one of the <br />houses that were to be demolished at 6"' & Lacy has been identified as a candidate <br />for moving and is ih discussions on acquiring a lot from the city to place home. <br />• Noted thanks to Ms. Nelson adding her leadership and work she provided for the City <br />has been a tremendous benefit and is sorry to see her go. <br />5. Excuse of Absences <br />Motion by Commissioner Kings and seconded by Commissioner O'Callaghan to excuse <br />the absence of Commissioner Gartner and approved unanimously by a vote of 7:0. <br /> <br />G.
