HISTORIC MARKER TEXT <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to approve text for the fourth and final group of historic <br />properties to receive bronze markers. <br />' RECOMMENDATION: <br />Approve text for the fourth and final group of historic properties to receive bronze <br />markers. <br />Hally Soboleske, Assistant Planner II, provided staff report and recommendation. <br />Commissioner Kings noted disappointment of removal of the city logo and register <br />number on the marker. Ms. Nelson noted staff received direction from the Council on <br />city logos and the decision was made by the City Manager's office, adding the plaque <br />loses the essence of the city seal when trying to fit on the bronze marker. HISTORIC EXTERIOR MODIFICATION APPLICATION NO. 2003-03 <br />Filed by Caribou Industries to modify the exterior facade of the existing United <br />Automotive historic building located at 100 S. Main Street. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Commission Policy. <br />Bob St. Paul, Associate Planner, provided staff report noting the applicant has made <br />new modifications to the exterior facade. Mr. St. Paul detailed the additional <br />modifications and noted staff is looking for policy direction on how to proceed. <br />Discussion ensued on the blue tile, wall-pack lighting, rope light near the rooftop, the <br />billboard, and concerns on the modifications being done prior to presenting to the <br />Commission. <br />Commissioner Kings noted the expectation that this posttacto action not be precedent <br />setting. <br />Approve the exterior modifications as proposed based on specific findings that <br />' the installations meet the intent of fhe Secretary of the Inferior's Standards for <br />Rehabilitation. <br />MOTION: Lutz SECOND: Kings <br />AYES: Chinn, Corpin, Gartner, Giles, Kings, Lutz, O'Callaghan, Schaefer (8) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Bustamante (1) <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 3 AUGUST 7, 2003 <br />
