PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />[; <br />PROCEDURAL RULES <br />1. <br />Filed by the City of Santa Ana to reconsider the placement and categorization of the <br />structure located at 2035 North Victoria Drive (Tuthill House) as a Landmark property on <br />the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties. <br />PUBLISHED IN THE ORANGE COUNTY REPORTER: July 25, 2003 <br />PUBLICLY NOTICED: July 25, 2003 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Move to reconsider the placement and categorization of the structure. <br />2a. Adopt a resolution approving Historic Resources Commission Application No. 2003- <br />26 and Historic Register Categorization No. 2003-26; or <br />2b. Adopt a resolution denying Historic Resources Commission Application No. 2003- <br />26 and Historic Register Categorization No. 2003-26. <br />Motion to reconsider the placement and categorization of the structure. <br />MOTION: Kings SECOND: Lutz <br />AYES: Chinn, Corpin, Gartner, Giles, Kings, Lutz, O'Callaghan, Schaefer (8) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSENT: Bustamante (1) <br />J <br />I~ <br />Lynnette Perry, Associate Planner, presented the staff report noting the property owner <br />is requesting that the property be removed from the Register. <br />Chairman Giles opened the public hearing. <br />R. Marshall Tanner, Attorney for property owner, noted the letter he had submitted and <br />outlined the reasons why the home should not have been listed on the register. <br />JoAnn Ramirez, Vice President of the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society, Ginelle <br />Hardy and Dale Quayle spoke in favor of categorizing property. <br />Eugene Moriarty, Owner, noted his concerns on having his property categorized. <br />Chairman Giles closed the public hearing. <br />Motion to adopt a resolution approving Historic Resources Commission <br />Application No. 2003-26 and Historic Register Categorization No. 2003-26. <br />MOTION: Chin <br />SECOND: Corpin <br />AYES: Chinn, Corpin (2) <br />NOES: Gartner, Giles, Kings, Lutz, O'Callaghan, Schaefer (6) <br />ABSENT: Bustamante (1) <br />Motion failed. <br />Discussion ensued on continuing item and information on the benefits of placing a home <br />on the register. <br />Motion to continue indefinitely and in the future consider placement and <br />categorization with name change of Tuttle-Moriarty House. <br />MOTION: Gartner SECOND: O'Callaghan <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 4 AUGUST 7, 2003 <br />
