Staff Comments <br />Ms. DeRosa <br />• Provided an update on the revised schedule for the Design and Development <br />Standards noting a draft will be presented to the Cor-imission in June. <br />• Noted that the Ad Hoc Committee meeting for markers was held on February 28 and <br />their recommendations will be presented to the Commission at the April meeting. <br />• Provided an update on the home burn-downs occjurring in various neighborhoods <br />conducted by the Fire Department noting the two recent homes were not on the <br />register. The burn-downs are coordinated by the 4~ommunity Development Agency <br />and in the future will contact Planning staff to clear historic status on the properties. <br />Mr. Edwards <br />• Noted that the Planning Commission will consider a replacement for Rob Richardson <br />as the representative to the Historic Resources Commission at their March 24 <br />meeting. <br />' 6. Historic Resources Commission Comments <br />Commissioner Bustamante <br />• Complimented and thanked the Floral Park residenrcs for attending the meeting and <br />showing interest. <br />• Thanked Hally Soboleske and staff for a job well done on the map. <br />Commissioner Chinn <br />• Noted he had accompanied two staff members toy Glendale and received a large <br />amount of information on what qualifies a house to,be on historical register by state <br />and federal guidelines. <br />• Noted appreciation to staff for their work on the map and on the web site that <br />contains a listing of historical homes that are on the register. <br />Commissioner Coroin <br />• Thanked staff for their work coordinating the Historical Preservation Workshop and <br />walking tour noting the event was well organized and heard positive comments from <br />attendees. <br />• Thanked Ms. Soboleske for the great map adding she would like to see eastside <br />houses on the map. <br />Commissioner Kings <br />• Echoed Commissioner Corpin on the excellent historic workshop adding attendees <br />' from other cities were overwhelmed with great information. <br />• Thanked staff for their work on the map. <br />• Recognized the Santa Ana Historical Preservation Society for their successful annual <br />dinner. <br />• Announced the annual State Preservation Conference will be held April 24 & 25 <br />noting she will be unable to attend due to a conflict. She invited Commissioners to <br />attend the informative conference, which would be arc their own expense. <br />Vice Chairman Schaefer <br />• Noted staff did a phenomenal job at the historic preservation workshop adding he <br />heard positive comments from attendees. <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 6 MARCH 6, 2003 <br />
