Requested an update on the Phillips Hutton building. Ms. Nelson noted work is <br />undervuay and the tenants are anxious to get in. <br />Thanked the Floral Park neighbors in attendance for their interest and taking the time <br />to attend. <br />C] <br />Commissioner O'Callaghan <br />• Noted the fantastic job on the map. <br />• Noted concern that homeowners need to be aware of the ramifications of a having <br />their home on the historical register such as having to pull a permit. Requested to <br />have a discussion. Mr. Edwards discussed the sturdy session previously held with <br />the Commission identifying areas in town that have high concentration of historic <br />resources and staff was instructed to cast a stronger eye on proposed modifications, <br />and discussed historic properties and the Secretary of Interior standards. Mr. <br />Kaufman noted that this discussion would be appropriate to agendize for the next <br />meeting. <br />Chairman Giles requested that staff place item on the next meeting's agenda. <br />Commissioner Gartner <br />• Commented he had not had a problem pulling a permit for a project in the city noting <br />he meets with staff prior to and relies on the Planning staff that is trained in <br />architecture to look over a project. <br />• Thanked the Commission for excusing him from last month's meeting as he was <br />traveling. <br />• Noted he was pleased with the map. <br />0 <br />Chairman Giles <br />• Echoed Commissioners in commending staff on the excellence of the historic <br />conference noting it was the easiest event he has mpderated. <br />• Congratulated Commissioner Bustamante on his appointment as the Chairman of <br />the Redevelopment and Housing Commission. <br />• Asked for an update on the Police Officers Associsltion property on Broadway. Mr. <br />Edwards noted there was nothing to report on the One Broadway Plaza project <br />adding they will relay any information received to thl3 Commission. <br />• Asked for an update on the YMCA building. Mr. Edwards noted there is no change <br />in the status. <br />Announced the preview of the United Auto Building on March 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 <br />p.m. on the corner of First and Main Streets. <br />7.
