Comments from Staff <br />Mr. Edwards <br />• Welcomed Commissioner Blair O'Callaghan to the Commission. <br />• Announced congratulations are in order for Kenneth Adams who has been appointed <br />as the Assistant Director of the Planning and Building Agency overseeing the <br />Building Safety and Community Preservation sections, effective May 1. <br />• Noted the Planning Manager position is currently open for recruitment. <br />7. Comments from Historic Resources Commission <br />Commissioner O'Callaghan <br />• Thanked Councilmember Franklin for his nomination to the Commission and noted <br />he is looking forward to serving. <br />Commissioner Giles <br />• Extended a warm welcome to Commissioner O'Callaghan. <br />Congratulated the Floral Park neighborhood for a successful home tour. <br />Thanked staff for preparing a tremendous amount of paperwork that is readable and <br />informative, and noted appreciation for time and effort. <br />Commented on the letter from Roger Heinrich of The Seventh-Day Adventist Church <br />indicating that he received the notice of public hearing on April 30 and May 1. Staff <br />responded that noticing is done 10 days before via certified mail to the property <br />owner. Commissioner Giles asked that staff contact Mr. Heinrich in Riverside and <br />update him on the Commission's action on their property. <br />Commissioners Bustamante, Corpin and Richardson welcomed Commissioner <br />O'Callaghan. <br />Madame Chair Kings <br />• Welcomed Commissioner O'Callaghan. <br />• Congratulated Mr. Adams on his new appointment and noted appreciation for his <br />work with the Historic Resources Commission. <br />• Reminded Template Review Committee members of the next meeting on Friday, <br />May 11 at 3:00 p.m. <br />Thanked staff for continuing work on the Broadway Corridor noting the real task for <br />the Commission is to review what approach they would like to take and requested a <br />special meeting to further discuss the issues. <br />Noted the wonderful work in progress on the informational packet going out to the <br />historic property owners adding it would be helpful to consider a Spanish language <br />leaflet in the packet to summarize information. <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION MINUTES 8 MAY 3, 2001 <br />
