Quarterly Report For <br />Housing Choice Voucher Program: <br />October 2005 - December 2005 <br />March 6, 2006 <br />Page 4 <br />Participating families pay a portion of their monthly rent based upon <br />their income and the payment standard for their unit. The Housing <br />Authority pays the difference between the tenant portion and the <br />contract rent. This payment is the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP). <br />The average HAP for October through December 2005 was $715.29 per unit. <br />The total HAP paid in October through December was $5,230,908. <br />Production <br />HQS Tnspections <br />Each assisted unit must be <br />inspected at least annually to <br />ensure it meets the Housing <br />Quality Standards (HQS) in <br />compliance with federal <br />guidelines. From October to <br />December, a total of 527 <br />inspections were performed. Chart <br />7 illustrates the number of <br />inspections performed monthly <br />since July 2005. <br />Re-certifications/Interims <br />Each year, the Housing <br />450 <br />Authority must re -certify each <br />400 <br />participating family to ensure <br />compliance with program <br />350 <br />eligibility. In addition, when <br />300 <br />a participant's income changes, <br />250 <br />an interim examination must be <br />performed. During the <br />200 <br />reporting period, a total of <br />150 <br />1125 re-certifications/interims <br />100 <br />were conducted.
