11. Ball Diamond Maintenance <br />The Contractor shall retain a sub - contractor to provide ball diamond infield <br />maintenance as set forth in Attachment 1. IT IS THE INTENT OF THIS <br />AGREEMENT THAT THESE FACILITIES BE MAINTAINED SO THAT <br />PLAYER SAFETY AND THE QUALITY OF PLAY ARE <br />CONTINUOUSLY ENHANCED. <br />a) Baseball Perimeter Maintenance <br />Ball diamond perimeter maintenance shall be performed daily. Ball <br />diamond perimeter maintenance shall be defined as all areas outside the <br />field of play and sideline /dugout areas where coaches, players and others <br />associated with the game gather. Ball diamond perimeter maintenance <br />areas shall include but is not limited to grandstands, areas around <br />concession stands, fence lines, warm -up areas, etc. The work that shall be <br />performed on a daily basis shall include picking up trash and debris, <br />blowing off areas/hosing down areas using a high pressure nozzle to <br />remove brick dust, stains and/or any other foreign material, such as <br />sunflower seeds or peanut shells, so that all areas, including pavement and <br />landscape areas, are 100% free and clean. <br />b) Daily Outfield Maintenance <br />(1) Irrigation checks and repairs to assure that irrigation heads are at the <br />proper grade to avoid injury to players who may fall on them and <br />that no "slippery" areas exist. <br />(2) Fill in of divots and depressions and all uneven areas with #20 white <br />silica sand, organic compost mixed with LaPrima XD Bermuda grass <br />seed during the spring/summer and Stover Grand Slam perennial rye <br />grass seed during the fall winter to re- establish the areas. <br />(3) Level fence line areas using a rock or leveling rake. <br />(4) Level and drag warning track areas using nail drag followed by <br />finishing drag mats. Contractor shall apply new brick dust to fence <br />lines and warning tracks as necessary to maintain consistent %Z" layer <br />of brick dust in these areas. <br />c) Weekly Maintenance <br />(1) Contractor will then edge the fence lines and warning track to <br />achieve crisp straight lines and a smooth crisp are where the brick <br />dust warning track meets the sport turf. <br />P% <br />W_._ Y <br />
