Quarterly Report far Housing <br />Ghoice Voucher Program <br />(October 2010 - December 2010) <br />February 22, 2011 <br />Page 2 <br />Charts 1 and 2 depict the characteristics of those currently on the waiting list. <br />Chart '! illustrates the percentage of those on the waiting list who work or live in Santa Ana. These <br />applicants are given a preference on the list. <br />Chart 2 illustrates the number of applicants by total household size, The majority of families on the <br />waiting list consist of only one or two members. <br />Half of all applicants <br />(2,'196 of zf,204; or 54%) have <br />one or two member households, <br />and would qualify for a <br />1-bedroom voucher. The Santa <br />Ana Housing Authority's <br />occupancy policy is one bedroom <br />far every two family members. <br />Participants <br />2. Overtwo-thirds <br />X71 %) of families receiving <br />assistance have three or fewer <br />members. <br />The family type of program <br />participants is illustrated in <br />Chart 4.
