• RESOLUTION NO. 2008-32 <br />TJ-10129/08 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DENYING <br />THE CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS FOR THE <br />PROPERTY LOCATED AT 919 NORTH LACY (HISTORIC <br />EXTERIOR MODIFICATION APPLICATION NO. 2008-03) <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. The applicant is requesting approval of Historic Exterior Modification <br />Application No. 2008-03 to allow the rehabilitation of the front porch for the <br />property located at 919 North Lacy and historically known as the Straub <br />House. <br />B. The one-story property was built in 1924, and was placed on the Santa <br />• Ana Register of Historical Properties as Contributive in 2002. The <br />structure is listed on the California Register of Historical Resources, and is <br />included in the National Register of Historic Places as a contributor to the <br />French Park Historic District. The structure contributes to the French Park <br />Historic District through its blend of Craftsman and Colonial Revival <br />architectural style. <br />C. The proposed project involves the repair of the concrete front porch <br />landing and entry steps on the primary elevation. For the proposed <br />rehabilitation, the applicant is requesting to change the existing concrete <br />surface of the landing and steps by repairing and applying red brick <br />veneer. <br />D. Pursuant to Santa Ana Municipal Code section 30-6, the Historic <br />Resources Commission held a duly noticed public hearing on November <br />6, 2008 for the request for exterior modifications of the historic Straub <br />House located at 919 North Lacy, Santa Ana (Historic Exterior <br />Modification Application No. 2008-03). <br />E. Since the property is listed on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties, all exterior modifications or alterations are required to meet the <br />Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. <br />1. Planning staff has reviewed the project for compliance with Historic <br />• French Park Design Guidelines and the 10 Secretary of the <br />Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation and has concluded that the <br />Resolution No. 2008-32 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
