Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Approve and authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute contracts for <br />Workforce Investment Act Formula Youth funding of the following Youth Program Operators <br />for Program Year (PY) 2011-2012, for a total of $668,000, for the period of July 1, 2011 <br />through June 30, 2012: <br />a. Taller San Jose to provide work experience, occupational skills training, supportive <br />services, counseling, job preparation, and placement to 25 Out-of-School Youth in <br />the amount of $150,000; <br />b. Santa Ana Public Library to provide post secondary occupational skills training, <br />work experience, leadership development, and supportive services for 12 In-School <br />Youth and 8 Out-of-School youth in the amount of $150,000; <br />C. Orange County Conservation Corps to provide work experience, alternative <br />secondary education, post-secondary education resources, and supportive services <br />for 23 Out-of-School Youth in the amount of $218,000; <br />d. Orange County Children's Therapeutic Arts Center to provide tutoring, work <br />experience, occupational skills training, job preparation, supportive services, <br />mentoring, and counseling for 25 Out-of-School Youth in the amount of $150,000; <br />2. Extend the term of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Santa Ana WORK Center <br />for the Youth Service Provider Navigator service to June 30, 2012 and allocate funding in <br />the amount of $317,745 from PY 2011-12 funds. <br />25C-1
