Allocation of WIA Youth Funds PY 11-12 & Navigator MOU Extension <br />June 20, 2011 <br />Page 3 <br />On July 6, 2010, the City Council approved an extension of the term of the Memorandum of <br />Understanding (MOU) with the Santa Ana WORK Center/Youth Service Program Navigator <br />through June 30, 2011. The Youth Service Navigator assumes the responsibility of determining <br />Workforce Investment Act (WIA) youth eligibility for WIA funded programs and services, provides <br />technical assistance to youth service providers, shares best practice in case management, <br />placement, exit, and follow-up services. In addition the Youth Service Navigator ensures the <br />completion and accuracy of all required forms and documentation, works cooperatively with all <br />youth service providers from the initial outreach, recruitment, and intake process to the successful <br />completion, exiting, and follow-up of all WIA youth enrolled in the Youth Service Provider Network <br />(YSPN). This extension would extend the term from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. The <br />Service Navigator Program Plan and budget for Program Year 2011-12 is attached (Exhibit 2). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for these contracts will be available in the Workforce Investment Act Youth accounts <br />(account no. 12318750-69135 and account no. 12318755-various) upon City Council's Adoption of <br />the Fiscal Year 2011-2012 budget. <br />APPROVED AS TO FUNDS AND ACCOUNTS: <br />It h <br />?7ha/nw(-'? e <br />T.
