IV14JV1 LCdgUG OUILU411, 111V. <br />I')M1 A.ra..o..o .. +PI.., <br />Major League Softball, Inc. <br />2011 Management Plan <br />City of Santa Ana Infield Maintenance <br />Sports Priority Turf Program and Specialized Weekly/Monthly Tasks <br />MIS will dedicate an experienced staffinember (theDirector orArea Lead) to handle the specialized <br />tasks associated with perimeterlborder edging, infield mowing, periodic turf aeration and <br />fertilization, and irrigation controller management. This staff member will be equipped with a gas <br />powered edger, Tru Cut "Greens" reel mower, walk behind piston type aerator and a mechanical <br />broadcaster. <br />The infield turf inside the base lines and the foul ground areas adjacent to the infields shall be <br />mowed with a "Greens" mower three (3) times per week from February I through August 31 and one <br />(1) time per week from September 1 through January 31 each year. The area 36" beyond the infield <br />perimeter borders/arcs shall be mowed with a "Greens" mower one (1) time per week year round <br />(Paragraph 12.8 in Addendum 42). <br />It is important to understand that the staffinember charged with this responsibility will be a highly <br />skilled individual that will be adept with leaving clean, straight borders and will be experienced and <br />knowledgeable with turf maintenance techniques. This way, both routine and specialized services <br />will be rendered at an unsurpassed level of quality and will be consistently performed on schedule. <br />Bi-Monthly Tasks <br />Using either a Kubota 2700 or 4100 tractor, both equipped with customized scarifying tines and a <br />3 point grading box, scarify each infield surface to a depth of %: inch. Then using the grading box, <br />"float" the infield surface to remove areas that are high and ensure a level playing surface. When the <br />floating process is complete, the infield mix will be heavywatered to ensure proper compactionprior <br />to use. This task will be performed by the Director or an Area Lead and will be completed based on <br />the time schedule prescribed by City staff. <br />Annual Tasks (Laser Leveling and Infield Mix Materials) <br />As one of the State's largest purchasers of infield mix, mound clay and Turface products, MLS will <br />provide the infield mix materials specified in the Santa Ana RFP at the most competitive prices <br />obtainable. MLS has already locked in pricing for the next year and Material Sales Unlimited is <br />warranting that the material will be delivered to MLS on demand. <br />After the infield mix has been delivered and dump spread, the Director will laser level each field <br />using one of MLS's Kubota tractors outfitted with a 3 point grading system and dual cone laser. <br />MLS warrants that all fields will be laser graded to optimize drainage and playing conditions. <br />Annual Tasks (Priority Sports Turf Renovation) <br />As defined in Paragraph 12.6 in Attachment 1 of the City's Request for Proposals, the areas inside <br />the base lines, foul ground adjacent to the infields and 36" beyond infield perimeter borders/arcs <br />shall receive an annual renovation. The renovation shall consist of verti-cutting with straight blade <br />reels, scalping the turf to 1/4", over-seeding top dressing. <br />Contact Protocol <br />Major League Softball, Inc. is managed administratively by David R.
