• Both agencies benefited and lease was executed at no cost to both <br />agencies. <br />• Lease expired in 1996 and City/District continued use on a month <br />to month bases. <br />- City/District staff recommends a lease/joint use agreement with the <br />following terms: <br />• 10 year lease with option for (2) additional 10 years <br />• No money exchange is required and lease is contingent on the <br />execution of the Angel Park lease being in effect. <br />- District constructed 11 courts and City paid for lighting on 4 courts. <br />- Joint Use of Tennis Courts <br />• District Use: <br />° District schedules use during regular school hours. <br />° District will enter into an MOU to permit Orange County High <br />School of the Arts (OCHSA) use of the tennis courts. <br />° After school hours, District and OCHSA shall reserve courts <br />through City Reservation system to avoid conflicts. <br />• City Use: <br />City schedules use after school hours and weekends. <br />- Supervision <br />• Each entity shall be responsible for supervision during its time of <br />use. <br />- Maintenance and Repair <br />• All maintenance and repair is the responsibility of the District. <br />- Utilities <br />• City is responsible to pay for all electricity and water service. <br />Willard Intermediate School <br />- Willard Intermediate Park <br />• District/City entered into a 25 year Joint Use Agreement for use of <br />Willard Intermediate School on Nov. 17, 2008. <br />• City recently was awarded a Prop 84 grant in the amount of $4.4 <br />million of improvements requiring a 30 year Joint Use Agreement. <br />Joint Use Agreement <br />• Terms: <br />° 30 years with option for extension <br />° City to provide $4.4 million grant funding for park improvements <br />including synthetic turf field, sports lighting, running track, <br />fencing, restroom, play equipment area and landscaping. <br />• District Use <br />° District schedules use during regular school hours. <br />° After school hours, District shall reserve fields through City <br />Reservation system to avoid conflicts. <br />• City Use: <br />° City schedules use after school hours and weekends. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 18 JUNE 20, 2011 <br />1 0A-18
