ATTACHMENT A 2011-DJ-BX-2532 <br />City: La Habra <br />The City of La Habra proposes to use the 2011 Justice Assistance Grant funding as follows: <br />Purpose Areas: <br />The purpose area is Law Enforcement. <br />Program Narrative: <br />Outline the Proposed program activities - <br />The City of La Habra will use its 2011 JAG funds to improve the communications ability of its Special <br />Weapons and Tactics Team. A new Crisis Throw Phone system will be purchased. This phone will <br />enhance the communication capabilities of the team. The phone contains video cameras that provide <br />valuable information to tactical operators. All video and audio is recorded and saved so it can be used in <br />criminal proceedings. <br />Provide a brief Analysis of the need for the programs - <br />The current throw phone used for negotiations is outdated and is prone to connection problems. The <br />picture quality on the video is very poor. There have been connection problems as the cord connecting the <br />throw phone damages easily. <br />Goals of the project: <br />The goal of this project is to purchase a new Crisis Throw Phone system for the Special Weapons and <br />Tactics Team. <br />Strategies to be used for project: <br />The total cost for the purchase of the Crisis Throw Phone system is $28,199. La Habra's entire portion of <br />JAG funds ($14,357) will be used and the remaining funds necessary for the purchase will come from the <br />City's funds. The purchase of the Crisis Throw Phone will be made in the United States. <br />Project identifiers: See JAG Identifiers (attached) <br />Equipment- Tactical <br />Budget and Budget Narrative: Outline how JAG funds will be used to support and implement the <br />program.
