Adapt a resolution approving the submission of an application to the <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Section S <br />Welfare-to--Work Program. <br />2. Authorize the Executive Director to execute the application and all <br />documents relating thereto. <br />REDEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br />Recommend that the Housing Authority: <br />1. Adopt a resolution approving the submission of an application to the <br />Department of Housing and Urban Development under the Section 8 <br />Welfare-to-Work Program. <br />2. Authorize the Executive Director to execute the application and all <br />documents relating thereto. <br />By a vote of 5:0 (Bustamante and Simone absent). <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Department of Housing and Urban Development has announced that <br />funding is available under the Section 8 Welfare--to-Work Voucher Program. <br />The Program is designed to provide tenant based Section 8 xental <br />assistance to help eligible individuals/families make the transition from <br />welfare to work. The vouchers are to be provided to eligible <br />individuals/families who are receiving, or received within the preceding <br />two years, assistance under the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families <br />
