Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and the Clerk of Council to execute an agreement with Orange <br />County Auto Parts for auto parts Integrated Business Solution, for a three year period and can be <br />extended for up to three successive one-year terms, in an annual amount of $450,000, subject to <br />non-substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Facilities, Fleet and Central Stores (FMCS) Division of the Finance and Management service <br />Agency maintains over 753 active fleet vehicles covering both sedans, small trucks and large <br />equipment at the Corporate Yard. Fleet maintains a stock room of fast moving parts as well as <br />special ordered Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts to provide the needed vehicle <br />parts for maintenance including routine preventative maintenance, complex mechanical repairs <br />and tire replacements. Vehicles serviced include Police patrol sedans as well as all light <br />equipment and vehicles and heavy equipment, including sewer and dump trucks. <br />The Integrated Business Solution (IBS) program offered by Genuine Parts Company, dba NAPA <br />is administered by the local authorized NAPA Santa Ana dealer, Western Division Jobber, <br />Orange County Auto Parts dba OCAP and will modernize the Fleet parts operation with emphasis <br />on improving the quality of service and reducing operational costs. The program will provide a <br />consignment inventory of vehicle parts, reduce obsolete parts and shrinkage costs as well as <br />enhance the efficiency of the parts room management. A turnkey solution will allow FMCS to <br />streamline administrative procedures, review and approve a standard Orange County Auto Parts <br />invoice, and issue one monthly check. <br />NAPA (IBS) system can provide professional quality parts and services to manage a complex <br />fleet of diverse ranges of equipment. Throughout the years, the City has maintained a <br />relationship with NAPA. NAPA provides the highest quality of auto part at competitive prices. <br />NAPA (IBS) program is unique; no other company can provide the same commitment that meets <br />the criteria for services and parts. <br />25D-1
