This program won a Recognition of Excellence Award <br />for the core math and scienc <br />from US DOL. This grant will. cover cohort instruction e required for <br />lower - division engineering majors. <br />Each cohort will be supported throughout the program by assiened tutors /mentors who will oughout <br />assist participants in mastering course materials and study skills• All tox <br />tutors /mentors will receive tu�ll <br />training through a Coklege Reading and Learning Association certified program. Tutors /mentors <br />receive additional training and counseling at each college, to enable them to mentor and support <br />i <br />I <br />effectively. Participants andtutors /mentors will work collaboratively to <br />project participants more I <br />learn study and networking habits, reinforcing material from core courses by practicing problem - <br />solving techniques. <br />Interactive learning vaill also be the core bf OC B211 Summer En . ineerin Institutes (SEIs), <br />conducted by RapidTech. RapidTech's six -week SEIs will feature advanced manufacturing tech- d <br />nologies such as 3D printing, along with opportunities for OC B2E students to apply the math an <br />engineering skills and concepts learned in the classroom. <br />Transfer Assistance. OC B2E is currently working on guaranteed admission agreements for <br />qualified OC B2E graduates? to engineering programs at UCI and CSUF.
