ATTACHMENT A 2011-DJ-BX-2532 <br />City: Costa Mesa <br />The City of Costa Mesa proposes to use the 2011 Justice Assistance Grant funding as follows: <br />Purpose Areas: <br />1) Planning, Evaluation, and Technology Improvement <br />Program Narrative: <br />The Costa Mesa Police Department's proposed program activity is to improve and enhance the security <br />and video system of its police facility. In general, law enforcement is a target to both foreign and <br />domestic threats. Components of the police department's security and video system are antiquated and the <br />department lacks funding to repair and improve the security and video system of the main police facility. <br />Goals of Proiect: <br />The department's project goal is to replace and upgrade components of its current security and video <br />system. This will improve the system's video retention capabilities, decrease maintenance costs, and <br />enhance monitoring capabilities within the facility. <br />Strategies to be used for Proiect: <br />To accomplish the department's 2011 JAG project goal, the agency will obtain quotes from vendors that <br />can supply the identified service, technology, and/or equipment needed. <br />Proiect Identifiers: <br />1) Equipment - Video/Audio Recording, 2) System Improvements <br />Budget & Budget Narrative: <br />Preliminary quotes have been obtained for the department's proposed program. The estimated costs are: <br />Digital Video Recorder (DVR) (qty. 2) - $22,000, Security Camera (qty. 1) - $3,102. <br />Timeline and/or ProiectPlan: <br />The project objectives and goals will be instituted immediately upon approval of the Costa Mesa City <br />Council and the department's ability to utilize the JAG allocation for expenditures. <br />Funding: <br />Total Allocation: $27,585 <br />PROACT Contribution: (0%) $ 0 <br />Administrative Fee (9%): $2,483 <br />Funds Retained by City/County: $25,102 <br />2011-DJ-BX-2532 Page 11 of 38 <br />20A-19
