ATTACHMENT A 2011-DJ-BX-2532 <br />City: Westminster <br />The City of Westminster proposes to use the 2011 Justice Assistance Grant funding as follows: <br />Proiect Obiectives: <br />Technology Funding_ Providing annual support costs for extant projects, like Crime Mapping in <br />vehicles and in the police station & presenting/mapping crime data relations software; Purchase <br />digital sign media equipment to be utilized in the Police Department's new Area Command <br />policing strategy (Geo Policing). Crime data will be displayed throughout the police department <br />to inform police officers of when and where crimes are occurring, so officers can more efficiently <br />patrol high crime areas when and where those crimes most often occur. Sign Server media will <br />also provide digital media information to the public so they can efficiently navigate the new <br />police facility and also receive crime trend and public safety information. <br />Goals of the project: <br />Technology Funding: To provide hardware and/or software systems capable of enhancing <br />mapping systems so officers can more efficiently proceed to calls or coordinate crime scenes. To <br />maximize the efficiency of delivering crime trend data to officers to increase policing efficiency <br />and reduce crime. To assist the public in receiving efficient and quality public service when they <br />visit new police facility <br />Strategies to be used for the project: <br />Technology Funding: We will determine those software systems requiring ongoing annual <br />support and are being consistently used by officers and investigators and financially support and <br />procure those products which should have the most widespread use throughout the department. <br />Police officers will receive the most current crime data daily. Sign Server Media will allow the <br />data to be displayed on 2 large monitors in the briefing room. Sign Server Media will allow <br />crime and public safety information to be displayed on a large monitor in the public lobby. <br />Ouantifiable Performance Measures: <br />Technology Funding_ Determine and document those systems requiring annual financial support <br />and provide appropriate purchase orders by Oct. 1, 2011. Track and document response times to <br />priority 1 and priority 2 calls for service.
