one (1) hour unpaid meal period. The determination as to a 30 <br />minute or one (1) hour unpaid meal period shall be made by the <br />Police Chief or his designee. <br />c. 9/80 Work Schedule. Employees shall work four (4) nine hour days <br />and one (1) four hour day in each seven (7) consecutive day, 168 hour <br />Standard Work Period. Each nine (9) hour workday shall consist of <br />nine (9) hours of work and either a 30 minute or one (1) hour unpaid <br />meal period. The eight hour workday shall consist of four (4) hours <br />applied to the first seven (7) day period and four (4) hours applied to <br />the second seven (7) day period divided by either a 30 minute or one <br />(1) hour unpaid meal period. The determination as to a 30 minute or <br />one (1) hour unpaid meal period shall be made by the Police Chief or <br />his designee. <br />d. 12/40 Work Schedule. Employees shall work three (3) 12 hour and <br />30 minute workdays and one (1) four hour workday in each seven (7) <br />consecutive day, 168 hour Standard Work Period. Effective <br />November 1, 2004, each workday shall consist of 11 hours and 30 <br />minutes of work, and a one (1) hour meal period, 30 minutes of which <br />shall be paid and 30 minutes of which shall be unpaid, for a total of <br />12 hours and 30 minutes. The four (4) hour workday shall consist of <br />four (4) hours of work. <br />2. Alternate Work Period Schedules-207(k Exempt Employees. <br />a. 207(k) 3/12.5 Work Schedule -Patrol/Canine. Employees shall work <br />thirteen 12 hour and 30 minute workdays in each 28 day FLSA Work <br />Period. Of the 13 workdays, an employee assigned to this schedule <br />shall be required to work one (1) 12 hour and 30 minute "payback" <br />day each 28 day FLSA Work Period, scheduled or assigned pursuant <br />to the Department's work schedule policy. Each workday shall <br />consist of 12 hours of work and a 30 minute paid meal period. During <br />each 28 day FLSA Work Period, employees shall work 162.5 hours. <br />Upon completion of this work schedule, employees will earn an <br />additional two (2) hours and 30 minutes of vacation time, provided <br />they do not take leave without pay during that Work Period. <br />Employees assigned to this schedule are compensated for their meal <br />periods. Consequently, if an employee is unable to take his or her <br />meal period, or is interrupted during his or her meal period, he or she <br />shall not receive further compensation. <br />b. 207(k) 7/12.5 Work Schedule -Detention. Employees shall work <br />three (3) 12 hour and 30 minute workdays in one (1) seven day period <br />and four (4) 12 hour and 30 minute workdays in the next seven (7) <br />day period, or alternatively, four (4)12 hour and 30 minute workdays <br />in the first seven (7) day period and three (3) 12 hour and 30 minute <br />6 <br />
