Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED <br />TO <br />FILE <br />NUMBER <br />Direct the City Attorney to prepare and authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to <br />execute an agreement with the Police Management Association regarding wages and other terms <br />and conditions of employment. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City requested that the Police Management Association (PMA) negotiate adjustments to its <br />current Memorandum of Understanding to effect certain reductions in salary and benefit costs to <br />the City. The provisions of this agreement include: <br />1) Contract Extension: The City and PMA agree to a one-year contract extension to <br />expire 6/30/14, with no salary increase in FY 2013-14. <br />2) Salary Increase: The current contract provided a 3.5% salary increase effective <br />7/1/12. <br />3) Additional Wage or Benefit: In the event the POA receives any additional wage or <br />benefit compensation prior to 6/30/14, the PIMA would receive said additional wages <br />or benefits. <br />4) Payment toward 3% at 50 Service Retirement Benefit: "Safety" employees shall <br />contribute an additional amount toward the City's "employer" rate as follows: <br />• 7/1/12 = additional 5.50% for a total of 7.92% <br />• 7/1/13 = additional 1.08% for a total of 9.00% (This additional contribution shall <br />sunset 6/30/14.) <br />5) Payment toward 2.7% at 55 Service Retirement Benefit: "Miscellaneous" employees <br />shall contribute an additional amount toward the City's "employer" rate as follows: <br />• 7/1/12 = additional 1.70% for a total of 8.00% <br />25E-1
