Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached three-year <br />agreement with an option to extend the contract for two-one year renewal with Crosstown <br />Electrical & Data, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $50,000 per year, subject to nonsubstantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Santa Ana Traffic Management Center (TMC) is a computerized traffic signal system that <br />controls all traffic signals and CCTV's in the City. This system utilizes twisted pair cables, fiber <br />optic cables, wireless and other methods to provide communication between the TMC and field <br />equipment. These communication systems require routine maintenance and emergency repair <br />due to malfunctions or damage occurring during construction. <br />Staff issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking the services from firms with experience in <br />troubleshooting and repair in the communication fields. The Notice Inviting Proposals was <br />released on July 10, 2012 and the results are as follows: <br />Firms receiving notice inviting proposals : 7 <br />Proposals received: 3 <br />Proposals received from Santa Ana firms: 0 <br />The evaluation committee and interview panel included representatives from PWA's Construction <br />and Traffic Engineering Sections. The proposals were evaluated on overall responsiveness <br />251-1
