<br />overall operational system - continued <br /> <br />Summary of Care's Southern California System Operations <br /> <br />Total Number of Ambulances in Fleet <br />Care Ambulance provides a response ready fleet of 130 ambulances licensed to provide ambulance services in Orange <br />County. We are the largest provider of emergency and non-emergency ambulance services in Orange County. <br /> <br />Each emergency ambulance in Care's dedicated fleet is complete with the latest technology, including 800 <br />MHz mobile radios and satellite-based Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL) tracking systems. All of Care's <br />ambulances meet and exceed the safety and equipment requirements listed in the RFP. <br /> <br />Total Number of Employees <br /> <br />By selecting Care Ambulance as the EMS Emergency Transportation Services provider for the City of Santa <br />Ana, the City will gain an experienced, dedicated workforce trained to the highest clinical standards. Care <br />Ambulance employs 816 individuals. EM"T-D <br /> <br />Immediate defibrillation is the most effective treatment for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (ventricular fibrillation). <br />Care Ambulance is proud to be the first ambulance service in Orange County to provide Automatic External <br />Defibrillators (AEDs) on all ambulance vehicles. <br /> <br />Medical research shows that the sooner defibrillation can be administered to a patient in ventricular fibrillation; <br />the better the chances are that normal cardiac activity can be restored. With the degenerative nature of <br />ventricular fibrillation, seconds can literally mean the difference between life and death. <br /> <br />9 <br />
