Contract Award for Bristol Street Widening and Bristol Street Water and Sewer Main Improvements January 22, 2013 Page 2 This project will widen Bristol Street from two to three lanes in each direction, add bike lanes, increase the sidewalk width, and add parkway and median landscaping. The widening will also include new traffic signals at the Santa Ana Boulevard and Civic Center Drive intersection, bus turnouts to improve traffic flow, bioswales to reduce surface run-off, sound walls adjacent to residential parcels, water and sewer system improvements, and a storm drain to improve drainage. Once completed, these improvements will enhance the ride quality, surface drainage, and visual appearance of the Bristol Street corridor.
