Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> A _ FILE NUMBER <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br /> Authorize submittal of the General Plan Housing Element Annual Progress Report to the State of <br /> California Housing and Community Development (HCD). <br /> <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> <br /> The General Plan Housing Element is a comprehensive planning document designed to address <br /> current and future housing needs for Santa Ana and surrounding region. The document includes <br /> the City's housing vision to meet community needs through 2014. The housing vision is expressed <br /> in the goals, policies and implementation programs as stated in the Housing Element. The <br /> purpose of the Housing Element Annual Progress Report (Exhibit 1) is to describe the activities <br /> and accomplishments made in 2012 to implement the City's housing vision. In particular, the <br /> report includes a summary of Santa Ana's progress in meeting its share of the Regional Housing <br /> Needs Allocation (RHNA).
