Award a contract to the lowest responsible bidder, PTM General Engineering Services, in <br />accordance with the Base Bid plus Add Alternate A, totaling $289,923 for the traffic signal <br />modifications at McFadden Avenue and Lyon Street. <br />2. Approve the Cost Analysis, as shown in Exhibit 1, for a total estimated project delivery cost of <br />$362,402. <br />DISCUSSION <br />This project consists of installing a phased left -turn signal which includes upgrading the signals <br />and enhancing the signage at the intersection of McFadden Avenue and Lyon Street, as shown <br />in Exhibit 2. Once completed, these improvements will permit improved left -turn movements and <br />communication with the traffic signal, and will allow traffic signal timing adjustments as <br />necessary, based on real -time traffic conditions. The improvements will enhance traffic flow and <br />increase safety at this location. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on March 11 & 12, 2013, and bids were opened on <br />April 3, 2013.
