R. EMERGENCY SERVICES <br />The Contractor shall provide the City with names and telephone numbers <br />of at least two qualified persons who can be called by City <br />representatives when emergency maintenance conditions occur during <br />hours when the Contractor's normal work force is not present in the City <br />of Santa Ana. These Contractor representatives shall respond to said <br />emergency within thirty (30) minutes from receiving notification. <br />S. SPECIALTY OPERATIONS <br />Written notification of all "specialty type" maintenance operations shall be <br />given to the City forty-eight (48) hours PRIOR to each of these operations <br />by the Contractor. <br />"Specialty type" maintenance operations are defined as: fertilization, turf <br />aerification, turf dethatching, seeding, preventive and curative application <br />of fungicide, herbicide or any required pesticide applications, water truck <br />operations, mulch applications and plant replacements. <br />T. UNDERGROUND EXCAVATIONS <br />Contractor shall be responsible for locating all underground utility lines to <br />insure the safety of his/her work crew and to protect, in place, existing <br />utility equipment before commencing any excavation. Contractor shall <br />contact the Projects Manager or designee and Underground Service Alert <br />(811) 48 hours before commencing any excavation, to locate <br />underground service lines. <br />III. ROUTINE MAINTENANCE <br />Routine maintenance shall include but not be limited to the following services <br />performed on all work sites listed in Exhibit AJB. <br />A. TURF CARE <br />1) Mowing <br />a. All turf shall be mowed weekly with mulching mowers. <br />Subject to the approval of the Projects Manager or <br />designee, the contractor may reduce the mowing <br />frequency to biweekly during periods of rain or prolonged <br />cold. All grass clippings shall be left in place with the <br />exception of large accumulations, which shall be collected <br />and removed after each mowing. All roadways adjacent to <br />work areas shall be kept clean at all times. <br />b. All turf shall be cut to a height appropriate for the type of <br />grass being mowed. Mowers shall be maintained in <br />optimum condition with sharp blades to provide a smooth, <br />even cut without tearing of the leaf blades. <br />25E-24
